Fall is coming, which means it’s time to decorate!!
I know I have said this before but it can and should be said again! Fall is coming, even though it doesn’t feel that way in a lot of places. Soon Starbucks will release their pumpkin bread, pumpkin spice lattes, Target will have tons of pumpkin scented candles near the door tempting you, and Michael’s will bring out the cinnamon pinecones.
This is my favorite time of the year not only for eating all things pumpkin or finally getting those sweaters back out from the back of the closet but also for the baking, soups, and of course the decorating.

Moving to France I realized something, we don’t decorate for fall. Though we are slowly getting into decorating for Halloween, so there is hope!
Of course, just like in the States there are a number of pumpkins everywhere since we love our soups! The almighty pumpkin is much more than a pie, or coffee ingredient. It is also a decorative showpiece. You can decorate it, paint it and even carve it!
Here are some fall decorating ideas that you are going to love to try in your home
Start with thinking about the colors you will want to incorporate for your fall decor. Colors such. as rust, brown, amber yellow, and burnt orange. You can make the prettiest vases using squashes, gours, and pumpkins. Use autumn flowers to make a sweet arrangement. Use as many dried items as you can so the arrangements last for months, remember winter doesn’t start until December!
Of course, the most popular fall decoration is pumpkins, and that is because you can easily find pumpkins at the grocery store, craft stores, and pumpkin patches. You can carve, paint or assemble pumpkins to create a cosy decoration.
For a cute way to welcome people into your home, you can use Forelles and Anjous pears. These fragrant fruits can be arranged on your mantel with dried leaves, pinecones, and pumpkins. Or you can use a washable marker and write W.E.L.C.O.M.E or H.O.M.E, and or I.T.’S. F.A.L.L. Y.’A.L.L. For an even sweeter arrangement, you can press cloves into the flesh of the pears creating the letters instead of writing them out.
I hope you will try a few of these fall decorations. When you do be sure to send me a picture! christin[email protected]
